Haunted House Road Trip - Part 6
Stardate 081029, Episode 22
HELLO! Here it is fans, the final chapter of the Haunted House Road Trip. I'm going to skip the recap and move right into the story.
Pat came back with a 12 pack of Grape Crush. SWEET! I cracked into one and slammed it. Pat yelled "YEAH!" and cracked into another 40oz of Colt 45. He started the car and floored it out of the gas station and cut off a pick truck on the way out. Pat leaned his head out of the window and yelled "Woohooo!" Thinking about that now, that probably wasn't a good idea as we were on our way to smash pumpkins, but we were both intoxicated. Well, I had a SWEET! sugar rush going on with all of the Twinkies and Grape soda in my system.
We drove around for bit and scoped out the town and neighborhoods. After about a half hour, Pat stopped the car and said "We're going to walk up the street a bit, I saw a good place to hit." I told him it was a bad idea to park under a street light. Pat said "Don't worry about it, the house is a few blocks and corners up the street, they'll never see us." I figured Pat was right I agreed with him and he said "Great, lets do this!" As we got out of the car, a pickup truck pulled in front of our car and blocked it from moving forward. Two country boys with big chews in their lip got out of the truck and the driver said "You boys like cuttin' people off?" Pat and I stared at them. I didn't know what to say, so I didn't say anything. Then the driver asked "Wha's tha matter? Cat got your tongue?" and then spit some chew out onto the road. I looked at Pat and he shrugged. Pat raised his Colt 45 and said "Want a beer?" I guess that made the country boy mad since he swung and punched Pat in the face.. hard. This next part of the story will always stay in my head. Pat didn't fall when he was punched in the face, he didn't even stagger of flinch. He just took the punch to his face and rolled with it. I helplessly stood there and watched all of the following events in slow motion (like i slowed down time SWEET!). Pat laughed as he brought his face back around to look at the country boy. The two country boys looked at each other, they looked confused. The second country boy said "kick his ass!" to the first country boy. Pat was still laughing. The country boy swung again and Pat caught his fist in mid swing and laughed in his face. The country boy swung with his other arm and Pat caught that one too! WOW! Pat stopped laughing and headbutt the country boy. Then he side kicked the country boy and sent him flying into his truck. My jaw dropped. The second country boy ran forward and swung at Pat, who slapped his fist aside as he moved out of the way. Pat brought his knee up into the country boy's stomach, then he drove his elbow into the country boys back and finished him with a leg sweep. I was stunned and excited. I was stunned by what I just witnessed and excited because Pat's powers had shown themselves. Pat has muscle memory! SWEET!
I was about to tell Pat he had muscle memory when he said "Watch out behind you!" I turned around to see Jason Voorhees walking out of the darkness towards me. I hoped in the car, locked the door and yelled "Let's get out of here!" Pat got into the car, but he didn't start it. Pat asked "What is this dude's problem?" I told him I didn't know and that we should go.. now. Jason walked around to the front of the car and stared at us for a few seconds. Then knelt down and grabbed one of the country boys by the ankle and dragged him towards the darkness. Pat shouted "HOLY SH!T!" I begged him to start the car. Pat grabbed a beer and got out of the car. He called out to Jason "Hey dude, ah Jason." Jason stopped and turned around. I ducked down a bit so he couldn't see me in the car. Pat said "Have another beer" and tossed it to him. Jason caught it with his free hand and looked at it for a few seconds, then he held it up in the air like a salute and nodded at Pat. Then he just turned around and continued to pull the country boy into the darkness.
Pat got us back on highway 60 and we headed home. I had enough excitement for one night, but Pat was pretty pumped. Pat felt like he could be friends with Jason now that they shared dome beers and he didn't kill us. I didn't hear too much of what he said, I was lost in my own thoughts.. sorry Pat. Pat said he was starving, so we stopped off at the IHOP in the Wisconsin Dells. It was a little after 1 AM when we got there. Pat ordered a double order of flap jacks. The waitress didn't know what flap jacks were, so Pat had to explain what they were. She said "We just call them pancakes here.." so Pat ordered a double stack of pancakes with eggs, hash browns and sausage. I ordered the french toast with eggs, hash browns and bacon. I don't like sausage, because it gushes in my mouth ans get stuck in my teeth... Anyway, I asked Pat how it felt to have two powers? He told me the only power he had was his high tolorance to alchohol. Pat was in denial and I told him so. He laughed. I asked if watched the Matrix recently? Pat asked how I knew that? I told him that he fought like he was in the Matrix. His body remembered what it saw and acted out in self defense. Pat reminded me that he was in Karate when he was younger. I told him he had been hitting the bottle to hard to have moves and reflexes like that. Pat agreed and said "The alchohol could be the reason why the punch to my face didn't hurt." Our food arrived and we continued our conversation while we ate. In the end Pat just chulked it up to luck. He felt luck was on his side and that was how he won the fight.. or maybe it was beer. I told Pat not to worry, I was going to prove he had powers. We paid for our food and walked back to the car. I looked up at the night sky and gazed at the moon. Pat asked what was up and I said "Can't you feel it Pat? We are changing and the world is starting to look different.. our destiny is coming." Pat asked what we should do until then? I told him we would prepare to meet our destiny. He asked how and I said "You are going to watch a bunch of Jean Claude Van Damme movies." Pat laughed and said "Let's go home." We got in the car and drove off into the night.
Well, there you have it folks. When Pat and I go on road trips, we have some crazy adventures. If you haven't read the rest of the story, I placed the links below. GOOD-BYE!
