Haunted House Road Trip - Part 5
Stardate 081029, Episode 21
HI! Welcome back to my Haunted House Road Trip to the Hartford JayCee's Haunted House in Slinger, Wisconsin. Ray is right, this is a crazy haunted house. So after standing in line for a few hours, BUMMER!, Pat and I made it through the dark spooky woods, the trailer and the haunted house with Jason Voorhees after us the whole way! So let's get on with the story. YAY!
Pat and I found a way out of the haunted house in the basement. We ran up a flight of stairs into the night air. I breathed deep and enjoyed it. We made it. Pat said "That was pretty awesome" and finished his beer. I nodded. I was glad to be out and done with this, so I breathed deep again. I heard a horn honk. An evil looking clown was leaning on a big tree. He gave Pat and I an evil smile and then laughed. He he honked his horn again and said "it’s not over yet, kiddies. You still need to get to your car." I told the clown that we made it through and there is nothing scary about the parking lot. The clown pointed and said "I don’t think he cares." Pat and I looked to our right. Jason was standing next to the corner of the haunted house and he was staring at us.
I could hear the clown laughing as we ran across the big lawn towards some bushes. We made our way through the bushes and found the gravel parking lot on the other side. The clown was silent. I’m sure he became another victim of Jason Voorhees. I could see the barn and the line of people on the other side of the parking lot. I really hoped this was over and we were finally safe, but my gut said no. The bushes started to shake and rustle like someone was coming through them. I told Pat this was it, no more running. It was time to face my first challenge, so I stepped in front of Pat to protect him and do what my destiny called for. I was scared. I’m not going to lie. The rustling grew more intense and I felt my super strength kick in because my muscles tensed as I balled my fist and waited for Jason to walk through the bushes. My heart was hammering in my chest and I was ready to pounce. The rustling stopped and out walked a raccoon from the bushes. I breather a sigh of relief and felt all of the adrenalin drain out of me. Pat laughed and said "get him Himee, get him!" I laughed a bit as well.
Pat tapped me on the shoulder and pointed at the crowd and said "He’s over there messing with the crowd." I looked and saw a guy wearing a hockey mask terrorizing the people in the in line. I nodded and said “He does his job well." Pat said “Let’s get going.” I agreed, it was time to go. We both turned around and found ourselves face to face with Jason Voorhees. We stood there staring at each other for a few seconds. My brain said "do something," but my body was paralyzed with surprise and shock. Jason shoved me to the ground and moved in on Pat. Pat must have been paralyzed with surprise and shock as well, because he didn’t move. I got up to finish this. I balled up my fist and punched Jason in the back. He didn't move.I threw a few more punches, willing my powers to kick in, but Jason swung his arm backwards and knocked me down. He then reached forward and took Pat's last beer. Jason stared at Pat for a few more seconds and then walked off into the woods. I looked at Pat and I was speechless. He said "Let's get the f@ck out of here!" We ran to the car, got in and locked the doors. Pat started the car and peeled out of the gravel parking lot. I asked Pat if were safe. He thought so, unless Jason had a fast car and wanted to chase us. I wondered if he did? I mean alot of weird things happened tonight. I asked Pat why didn't Jason kill us? It didn't make sense to me. Pat said "I don't know dude. I was frozen scared and all I kept thinking was 'don't kill me, just take the beer' and then he did." I thought about that for a bit and I smiled. I told Pat this is proof that he developing a power. He used mind control to tell Jason to take the beer and not kill him. Pat just said "I'm lucky I didn't sh!t my pants." I told Pat he didn't crap his pants because his mind didn't want to. He cut me off and told me he needed a drink.
Pat pulled the car into a gas station and ran inside to buy a 40oz of Colt 45. I sat in the car with a head full of thoughts.I was freaked out by Jason Voorhees, but I was over joyed at Pat's new found powers. I never dreamed that Pat would have powers like me, but now I was think about the possibilities. We would of course be a tag team, a super power duo for good. Pat and I would be like Hiro and Ando, only we would be better. I felt bad for thinking like that, but it was the truth. We would of course help Hiro, even ask him to join us. We could be the start of a super hero team of super hero's! SWEET!
My thoughts were inturupted by Pat getting back in the car. He handed me a bag with a bunch of Twinkies and a 20ozof Fanta Grape soda. My mood was soured. Why? Well, Fanta is like the worse Grape soda ever. It's flat and flat grape soda is a BUMMER. Pat said it was all they had as he pulled the car up to the pump. I got out to fill the tank, Pat got out and started slamming his 40oz. He drained about half of it in 30 seconds and was entering what I like to call "Happy Pat" mode. This is where Pat gets really happy and likes to smile and laugh at nothing. I was feeling a little happy myself. Grape soda does that to me, even flat grape soda. Pat finished his 40oz and yelled "DUDE!" He stood there for a few seconds and said "Dude! we should go pumpkin smashing!" It sounded fun, but I didn't want to get into trouble, plus it's wrong to smash other peoples property. I told Pat we shouldn't, but he didn't want to hear it. He said "Dude! come on! I'll buy you a 12 pack of grape soda!" I have my weaknesses just like everyone else and Pat knows I love my Grape soda.. so I said okay. Pat put his arm around my shoulders and said "You're a good friend. You know that? A really good friend. I would die for you Himee." Pat likes to get all sappy on me when he is "Happy Pat" mode. I said "Go get the Grape soda, you old pirate."
So this has turned out to be one of the crazier road trips Pat and I have ever taken. We survived the cold wraith of Jason Voorhees. I know it sounds like a big misunderstanding, he was a haunted house worker just doing his job and he wanted a beer. I disagree, you were not there, I was. He wanted to kill us and Pat saved both of us with his new found power of mind control. So like I said, this is a crazy night, but it isn't over yet. Nope. Read part six, the final chapter and see how this night ended.
